Yes, it’s raining…but the Doppler thinks it will clear shortly. 6:30pm is our new start time! Hope you will still come run for Rollingwood!
We are a RAIN OR SHINE event so if it drizzling or raining, we are ON! So please come down to City Hall with a poncho and a smile. Don’t forget your stick-on race numbers and yellow food wristbands.
The only reason we would cancel would be if there was a lightening strike. The policy is if there is a lightening strike you are not able to start for 30 minutes. We will delay the race but only up until 7pm.
Please check Nextdoor and the Rollingwood FB Pages for updates.
Thank you all so much and we hope to see you all, and the sunshine, tonight at 6pm.
Don’t miss out on this family-friendly event in Rollingwood! Got a stroller? Bring it! Don’t want to run? Walk it! There will be fun and games in the Rollingwood Park after the race. Enjoy PTerry’s burgers, Kona Ice, Balloon Twister, face painting, music and more. Shot-gun start at 6pm….don’t be late!

Here’s the letter Melissa Morrow wrote to the Picayune:
|Friday night April 11th was a beautiful evening for the Life is Good in the Wood 5k. The fun run and picnic in the park had over 350 participants. Great thanks to the Rollingwood Women’s Club and Rollingwood neighborhood volunteers for helping with the event. The proceeds from the 5k go toward improving Rollingwood’s parks and public spaces. Peter Huff was the overall winner and Cassidy Beard was the female winner. Special thanks to our top sponsors Amy Rung and Catherine Hanrahan with Wilson Goldrick Realtors, Frost, and The Rowing Dock. We enjoyed burgers from P. Terry’s, Italian Ice from Rita’s, and music from Tanya Winch. For kids and grownups alike there were goodie bags from Trader Joe’s, massages from The Zen Den, hula hoops, a Snapology lego building area, cotton candy, face painting, a clown who shaped balloons, and a bouncy house. Big thanks also to the Rollingwood City Staff, Police Department, and Westlake Fire Department for their role in making it a safe and fun event for all!
See you next year!
